Easter? Biblical in Origin? Well Sort of...
Why does the church celebrate Easter? Does it have anything to do with the resurrection of our Lord? What is the deal with bunnies and eggs? Have you ever ask these questions or do you just follow along with the crowd and just do these traditions with out knowing their origin? My Confession To You
I have to admit that I was swept in by the Easter bunny and eggs and egg hunts. I began to wonder why we do that. It is really a weird thing to do if you think about it. I mean, what do eggs and bunnies have to do with the resurrection of our Messiah? Through study I have learned and have become shocked at it's origin. The information about Easter is very easy to find. It is as simple as opening up any encyclopedia and looking up the word Easter.History and Mythology
Soon after the global flood, Nimrod, Noah's great grandson began to build the kingdom of Babylon. The civilization he started is known by historians as that of the "Chaldeans". Nimrod was elevated to god status by men and was worshiped as a chief deity. Beltis (Semiaramis, Ishtar, Easter) was the wife of Nimrod. Nimrod was ruler of Babylon when he tried to build a tower to heaven. After Nimrods death his wife claims he did not die but was ascended into heaven and was now the sun god.Easter Eggs
According to the Jewish historian Josephus, Nimrod was punished for his rebellion by Shem, one of the sons of Noah. He cut Nimrod's body into many pieces and sent it to the surrounding people as a warning against idolatry. Nimrod's wife Semiramis, the Queen of Babylon, collected all the parts of his body except for his penis. After Nimrods death his wife claims he did not die but was ascended into heaven and was now the sun god. She, now being the wife of the sun had to make herself a goddess. She told everyone that she had ascended in to the heavens and had came back down in a giant egg and landed in the Euphrates River. She then proceeded to turn a bird into an egg laying rabbit. She proclaimed herself as the queen of heaven. Her egg became known as Ishtar's egg, or as we call it today "Easter egg".Child Sacrifice
At Babel, when the language was confused the names of the gods changed but refer to the same "gods". Every year the priest of Easter would impregnate virgins on the alter of Easter. The next year those infants would be 3 months old. They would kill the infants and dye eggs in their blood. To this day, certain churches will only allow their eggs to be dyed one color… blood red. I’m sure they have no idea why or they fabricate something about being symbolic of new birth in the blood of Jesus. This practice is clearly a rehearsal of child sacrifice.Mother and Child Worship
After Nimrods death, Semiramius becomes pregnant, she says by the rays of the sun. Her son was born on December 25. His name was Tammuz. He automatically became a god due to his conception being through the rays of the sun. His mother became known as the mother of god and mother child worship begins. Tammuz and his mother become not only mother and son but husband and wife. They rule the kingdom of Babylon together as gods. Tammuz was killed in a hunting accident by a wild boar. He was 40 years old. Hs wife mother tells everyone they are to mourn for him 40 days prior to the anniversary of his death. They are to give up meat during this time. It was one day for every year he lived. Now this holiday is called lent and done in the name of Jesus. And is said to be done in remembrance of his 40 days he was in the wilderness. Either way we are not suppose to learn the way of the heathen and say we are doing it for him it is an abomination.Harmless Fun?
Easter may seem like harmless fun and I have heard many times “well that’s not what it means to me” or “God knows my heart” and those statements are true. But do you really want to participate or allow your children to participate in celebrations that so clearly are pagan in origin?Jeremiah 16:19
O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
